If you need help when we are closed
If you need help urgently and it isn’t life threatening, please use the NHS111 service to be directed to care in the right place for your medical problem.
You can either call 111, use NHS 111 online or use the NHS App. All three routes will ensure that you are assessed and, if you need to be seen, an appointment can be arranged at a local service, such as an urgent care or urgent treatment centre.
Your telephone call will put you through to a trained member of the NHS staff who will arrange for a doctor or nurse to call you back to advise you on the best course of action for your particular problem.
If you need information or advice visit the LLR ICB website
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
Getting Here
Patients With Particular Needs.
Our surgery is accessible to patients using a wheelchair. We also have a parking space reserved for patients displaying a disabled parking badge.
For patients with hearing problems, we have both fixed and portable loop equipment. We can arrange interpretation and translation services in person or by phone for patients who do not speak English. Please let us know if you need this service when booking an appointment.
How to make a complaint
Broom Leys Surgery aims to give a friendly and professional service to all our patients. However, if you have any concerns about any aspect of our service, please let us know. Speak to whomever you feel most comfortable with – your GP, our practice manager or our reception staff will be happy to help.
In most cases, concerns can be resolved quickly and informally. However, if you feel that the issues you have raised have not been addressed to your satisfaction, you are welcome to contact the surgery in writing or by email. Our Complaints Manager, Kathy Platts, will be happy to assist you.
Should you still feel that the issue remains unresolved you can complain to Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board (LLR ICB): this is the organisation that paid for the service or care you received.
You can do this by:
Telephone: 0116 295 7572
Email: llricb-llr.complaints@nhs.net
or in writing to:
